Moderately deep crimson, even colour throughout. The nose is gentle and elegant, with aromas of blackberry, cherry, plum, thyme and spice. Medium-full bodied, aromas of blackberry, plum and cherry entwined with thyme, vanilla, cinnamon and mocha. The dark fruit is succulent with good depth, layering detailed spices and enriching the silky mouthfeel. This dark-fruited Pinot Noir is well-structured and elegant. Match with lamb rack and roasted duck over the next 8 years. Fruit from Pisa sub-region, 100% destemmed, fermented in barrel to 14% alc, then aged in barrels, 28% new French oak.
