Our 2009 Pinot Noir displays boysenberry, blackcurrant, cinnamon and violet aromatics. The palate shows exotic black fruit flavours with soft and intense elegant tannins.

At Nevis Bluff we only make wine from grapes that have the word “Pinot” in front of them. We believe Central Otago is the perfect location for growing Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, and we should concentrate our efforts on those varietals we have a natural affinity for. But rather than allow this focus to limit us, we have found other ways to expand our offering, by leveraging the experience gained in the Pinot grape, hence the release of two exciting new wines in the Nevis Bluff range.

Made in a dry style, the oak gives this wine a softness and richness while still retaining its intense fruit characteristics.
White peach, nectarine stone and paw paw aromatics open to lifted honey biscotti and stone fruit flavours. The wine has a nicely balanced palate and a strong persistent finish.

During vintage of 2011 one particular Pinot Gris clone showed unique ripening characteristics to manifest as the Nevis Bluff 2011 Late Harvest Pinot Gris; a lush, textural dessert wine.
Dried apricot, liquefied honey and loquat aromatics followed by an unctuous oily, lush textural wine. This dessert wine has great density, softness and mineral long-lived intensity.
